List #2: Topics for this blog

This is the 2nd post in my very first day of having this blog.  Two posts in one day will probably never happen again.  But I'm on a roll, and I have some thoughts for topics to cover in future blog lists.  Hmm... maybe I can start a new trend.  Blog and List.  "Blists"?  "b-lists"?  "blogist"?  Yeah, none of those are as cool as "blog".  Anyway... here's my second list:

LIST OF POTENTIAL LISTS TO COVER FOR LISTS 4 LIFE
  • Reasons why people feel the need to speed through my neighborhood with all kinds of kids around
  • Things I want to do when I grow up
  • Things I would do if I were fired
  • Lists of some of my favorite things
  • List of some of my favorite people
  • List of some of my favorite cars
Wow... that is one weak list!  This Blist may not last much past its 2nd entry!  :-)  Where is that creative side of I mentioned in the first post?  Maybe there is a reason it doesn't come out much -- its too embarrassed!

List #1: Why this blog?

I was reading some James Altucher stuff and a lot of his blog posts are lists.  I thought to myself, "self, I like lists, and I like to write, so why don't I write some lists".  And thus, the idea of "Lists for Life" was born.  While the title almost sounds self help-ish, the reality is I just liked the way it sounded when I had to type in a name for my blog.  Whether it turns out that I actually like writing lists or not, we'll see.

So let's get things started, shall we?

REASONS FOR STARTING THIS BLOG

  • I like to write.  Not sure I'm good at it, but since I'll probably be the only one reading this, it doesn't really matter.   This gets me thinking -- if a blogger blogs but nobody reads it, is it really a blog?
  • I like lists.  Particularly bullet-ized lists. They help keep things short, concise, and organized.
  • I have a creative side to me that doesn't get utilized enough -- perhaps this will give it an outlet.
  • Maybe, just maybe, a good idea for a career change, a product, or a service will come out of this.
  • Maybe my one reader will turn into two, then four, then many more.  More importantly, maybe one of those readers might get something out of it.  Yeah, I know, not likely.
  • Just because.
